Henri Bourgeois Cuvee Etienne Henri 2009
'Gently kissed with toast, giving the core of white peach, lemon and chamomile a broader frame of lightly toasted brioche and paraffin. A suave echo of flint chimes through the finish in this lovely rendering of the toasty style. Drink now through 2014.' - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 93/100, (Nov 2012)
Henri Bourgeois Pouilly-Fumé La Demoiselle de Bourgeois 2010
‘Dominated by minerality, this is a flinty and steel textured wine. It has some richness while remaining straight and narrow. With its structured character, it will need to age for over several years.’ – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 91/100 (Sep 2012)
‘This elegant white displays a nice range of lemon zest, chive flower, grapefruit pulp and chamomile notes woven together, backed by an herb-inflected finish. Drink now.’ – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 90/100 (Nov 2012)
Henri Bourgeois Sancerre Jadis 2010
One of the top wines from Henri Bourgeois, this is rich and ageworthy. Its green and white fruits push through a concentrated structure to give a dense wine with ripeness and great elegance.’ - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 94/100 (Sep 2012)
‘This has lots of cut and verve, with lime, chive, flint and gooseberry notes crackling along, backed by a rapier finish where the flint edge ultimately wins out. Very solid. Drink now through 2015.’ – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 92/100 (Nov 2012)
‘The Bourgeois 2010 Sancerre Jadis exhibits intensely pungent and almost candied mintiness that mingles in the nose with lanolin and resin notes from barrel. Silken-textured but tartly informed by apple and lime along with mouthwatering salinity, it finishes with considerable bitterness on top of chalky and peppery notes, for an impressively persistent if far from winsome effect. This is certainly Sauvignon with an attitude! I have the feeling that the lees have been beneficial in buffering tart and bitter elements here that would otherwise have become entirely excessive and deleterious.’ – David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Jun 2012)
Henri Bourgeois Pouilly-Fumé La Demoiselle de Bourgeois 2012
‘Still young, this intense wine is packed with tropical and citrus fruits. It is also structured, textured with a chalky, mineral feel. This is a wine that feels rich and that needs several years aging. Drink from 2016.’ – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 91/100 (Apr 2014)
‘Light, greenish yellow. Exuberant aromas of orange peel, quinine and white pepper. Juicy and youthfully taut, with citrus flavors accentuated by lively acidity, this sauvignon blanc opens quickly on the palate. Finer and tenderer than the En Travertin, it also shows more persistence on the finish.’ – Joel B Payne, Vinous, 89/100 (Sep 2014)
‘Lime green in color, it offers a refined, floral, slightly spicy/smoky aroma of yellow nectarines and tropical flavors which assume command after some minutes of aeration. Brilliant in its very aromatic taste of nectarines and passion fruit, this is a slightly salty, very elegant and accessible wine of good balance. It is delicate very well made and of reliable and enjoyable quality, but may saturate much earlier than the Sancerres do.’ – Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, 88/100 (Oct 2014)
