About this Item
Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair was established in 2000. While it is a relatively new domaine in Burgundy, the Liger-Belair family has owned vineyards in Vosne-Romanée since 1815. They produce a range of Grand and Premier Cru wines from vineyards in Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée, with the tiny monopole of La Romanée providing their flagship wine. The Comte Liger-Belair wines are highly sought-after, despite the domaine's youth and the La Romanée monopole is regularly among the most expensive wines produced in Burgundy. Comte Liger-Belair's mostly Pinot Noir-based wines are farmed using biodynamic principles and the vineyards are still plowed by horse.

Critics Ratings
‘There is a hint of herbal tea character to the fresh, cool and layered nose that offers up notes of plum, violet, rose petal and anise. There is a lovely sense of energy to the detailed, intense and refined middle weight flavors that brim with an almost pungent minerality before culminating in a seductively mouth coating and strikingly long finish. For my taste this exceptionally pretty and classy effort is still on the way up though it's not so far away that it couldn't be enjoyed now if allowed 30 minutes or so of air first. Tasted twice recently with consistent results. Drink 2023+.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 92/100 (Nov 2018)
