About this Item
Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is one of the most famous producers in Burgundy. Its lineage dates back to the mid-1400s. The Musigny vines themselves were first mentioned in 1528. The family is part of the history of Chambolle-Musigny, where they produce elegant, highly-collectable and long-ageing Pinot Noirs. The estate has around 70% of its land in the Le Musigny Grand Cru vineyard and 2.7 hectares of Bonnes-Mares. Vines are also held in the famous Les Amoureuses Premier Cru vineyard, as well as Les Baudes and Les Fuées. De Vogüé is rare in that it is one of the only domaines in Burgundy that can trace its history so far back in the region's timeline.

Critics Ratings
2008
‘The 2008 Bonnes Mares is totally classy and elegant. It shows gorgeous inner liqueur-like sweetness, expressive aromatics and a rich, textured finish that is a marvel to behold. The sheer depth, density and incisiveness of the fruit is fabulous. Expressive floral notes round out the finish. This is very much an understated Bonnes Mares from de Vogüé. Drinking window 2023 - 2048.’ – Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com, 95/100 (May 2011)
2009
‘The 2009 Bonnes-Mares is quite big and powerful yet also possesses a seamlessness that is very 2009. Waves of black fruit, spices, menthol and licorice saturate the palate as this large-scaled, dramatic wine opens up in the glass. The Bonnes-Mares boasts a tremendous combination of fruit and sheer structure. The 2009 is more approachable than the 2010 and nearly as dazzling. It will still require quite a bit of time, however, readers need to be patient. Drinking window 2024 - 2039.’ – Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com, 96/100 (Apr 2012)
2010
‘Not unexpectedly here the brooding and somber nose is completely different with a much greater emphasis on earth and smoked tea nuances on the darker hued fruit that includes cassis and black raspberry. The rich, powerful and impressively concentrated large-scaled flavors exhibit a sleek muscularity on the pure, balanced and gorgeously long finish. Like most of these 2010s, there is a serenity present here that allows the wines to unfold elegantly and coherently. This is a compact and quite forceful wine yet it delivers that power with no sense of weight or heaviness. Drink 2025+.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 95/100 (Jan 2013)
