About this Item
Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of Burgundy’s star properties and is known for its concentrated, rich and serious wines. Until 30 years ago, most of the domaine's vineyards were leased out and the wine was sold to négociants. The domaine only began bottling in 1985 and the various sharecropping agreements, including one with Henri Jayer, have all come to an end. Today, Jean-Nicolas Méo and Christian Faurois, a former sharecropper turned right-hand man, manage the domaine and produce some of the Côte d'Or’s finest wines. The domaine now proudly holds 2.5 hectares of Grands Crus and 8 hectares in some of the finest Premier Cru sites in Nuits-St-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. Most of the vineyards are farmed organically.

Critics Ratings
Domaine Méo-Camuzet Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers 2010
‘A soft touch of wood frames a notably ripe nose of black pinot fruit that exhibits gentle spice and earth notes. There is an overtly muscular character to the robust and powerful medium-bodied flavors that possess plenty of dry extract that confers a velvety quality to the otherwise chewy, firm and built to age finish. Drink 2025+.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 91-93/100 (Jan 2012)
Domaine Méo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Aux Brûlées 2010
‘A restrained but gorgeously spicy nose presents notes of violet, black pinot fruit, Asian-style tea and lovely cinnamon whiffs. There is fine mid-palate concentration to the sleekly muscular middle weight flavors that brim with a fine minerality that carries over to the sneaky long, markedly firm and impeccably well-balanced finish. This is somewhat more elegant than usual as the tannins are quite refined and overall, this is clearly very much still on the way up and while it could be enjoyed now, I would be inclined to hold it for another 7 to 10 years first. In a word, brilliant! Drink 2025+.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 94/100 (Jul 2017)
Domaine Méo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes 2010
‘The 2010 Vosne-Romanée Les Chaumes is deep, powerful and sensual. It boasts fabulous depth and an understated personality that is immensely appealing. Today the Chaumes is cool and introspective, but it should blossom nicely with further time in bottle. At present it is quite reticent, even if its potential is striking. Drinking window 2015 - 2025.’ – Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 91-93/100 (Feb 2012)
