About this Item
Domaine Robert Chevillon produces high-end Pinot Noirs in Nuit-Saint-Georges, Burgundy. The estate has been passed down through the Chevillon family since the turn of the 20th century and it now holds 13 hectares, including parcels in 8 Premier Cru Nuit-Saint-Georges sites. Several of Robert Chevillon’s plots were in vineyards that were upgraded to Premier Cru status. This had a large impact on the success of the domaine and their wines and reputation. Rather than continue selling to négociants, Robert was the first in his family to domaine-bottle his wines. He ran the family estate until 2003 when he retired; passing the management and winemaking on to his sons. The domaine is known for its older vines in their Les Cailles, Les Vaucrains and Les Saint-Georges vineyard plots. Some are older than 75 years old.

Critics Ratings
Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles 2011
‘As complex as the Pruliers is, the Les Cailles ratchets it up yet another notch with its spicy and pure blend of cassis, plum, violet and distinct iron-infused earth. There is excellent richness to the cool and equally pure medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent focus on the explosively long finish. The tannins are dense but quite fine and this offers outstanding upside development potential. Drink 2023+.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 92-94/100 (Jan 2013)
Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Perrieres 2011
‘Here the nose just soars from the glass to reveal strikingly fresh and pure red berry fruit, wet stone and discreet earth hints. There is an equally striking sense of energy to the precise, intense and stony middle weight flavors that possess very fine balance and depth, all wrapped in a lingering and notably firm finish that suggests that this will need 10 to 12 years to reach its apogee. Drink 2021+.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 90-92/100 (Jan 2013)
Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Saint-George 2011
‘Like the Pruliers this is very reserved, indeed it required plenty of swirling to coax the otherwise pretty, layered and remarkably complex nose of underbrush, earth, spice hints, floral nuances plus both red and blue pinot fruit. There is a distinctly earthy and entirely serious character to the refined flavors that are at once supple yet concentrated, all wrapped in balanced, overtly powerful and jaw-dropping persistent finish. Most impressive. Drink 2023+.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 92-95/100 (Jan 2013)
Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains 2011
‘This is very reserved, indeed to the point where the nose is borderline taciturn and requires considerable swirling to reveal the ripe and intensely earthy nose of animale inflected dark berry fruit. The concentrated, powerful and muscular broad-shouldered flavors ooze with an abundance of dry extract that actually causes the very firm tannins to appear more civilized than they really are. Despite the reserve of the nose the austere finish is explosive and the length is excellent. Drink 2023+.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 92/100 (Jan 2014)
Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Bousselots 2011
‘Bright medium red. Crushed cassis and black cherry on the nose, lifted by a mineral element. Dense, chewy and concentrated; shows a chocolatey quality but also more mineral verve than the Chaignots. Plenty of medicinal reserve here. Finishes firmly tannic but not dry. A good showing.’ – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 88-91/100 (Jan 2013)
