About this Item

2010 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Murgers, Vougeots 1er Les Petits Vougeot, Vosne-Romanée, Clos de Vougeot
7 (1 x 7) 750ml

Established in Vougeot in 1962 by Alain Hudelot, Domaine Hudelot-Noellat has quietly risen to the top echelon of Cote de Nuits producers. In 2008, Alain retired and his grandson Charles van Canneyt took over, making wines of great refinement and complexity. They farm sustainably on their 10 ha of vineyards planted across 15 different appellations, spread over the villages of Nuits-Saint-George, Vougeot, Chambolle- Musigny and Vosne-Romane´e. This includes the Grands Crus Romane´e-Saint-Vivant, Richebourg and Clos de Vougeot. Hudelot-Noe¨llat is known for its old vines which average more than 50 years old with several vineyards dating back to 1920. The Hudelot-Noe¨llat wines are always the most elegant in a line-up. Their fresh acidity, deft use of oak and terroir-driven style appeals to the traditional Burgundy-lover seeking long-ageing wines.

Critics Ratings

Domaine Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Clos de Vougeot 2010

‘Good medium red. Very fresh aromas and flavors of small wild red berries, dried flowers, smoke and game. Rich and voluminous but sappy and not at all heavy; really saturates the mouth with flavor and builds and echoes on the back end. The tannins are fine and even. A beauty.’ – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 94/100 (Mar 2013)

Domaine Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Murgers 2010

‘Good bright medium red. Sexy, soil-inflected aromas of cherry, redcurrant, strawberry, tobacco, cinnamon and licorice. Intensely floral and precise, with ripe acidity framing the flavors of red berries, game, earth and resiny herbs. Conveys a saline impression of extract. Finishes with a broad dusting of tannins and excellent length and lift. This very pretty wine retained its supple mid-palate texture for 72 hours in the recorked bottle.’ – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 92/100 (Mar 2013)

Domaine Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Vougeot 1er Les Petits Vougeot 2010

‘Very mild reduction reduces the expressiveness but does not fully hide the otherwise fresh and airy red pinot fruit and earth suffused nose. There is good detail and excellent verve to the balanced, intense and relatively refined finish. In 2010, this is definitely more Chambolle than Vougeot in basic character. Drink 2017+.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 90-92/100 (Jan 2012)

 Domaine Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Vosne-Romanée 2010

‘This is also reduced but there is an elegant and very pure mouth feel to the sophisticated and silky medium-bodied flavors that are blessed with fine balance on the dusty and lingering finish. This is also a lovely villages and I very much like the style plus it should amply reward mid-term cellaring.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 88-91/100 (Jan 2012)
