A near pair of Chinese porcelain opium pillows, Republic Period (1912-1949)
each of trapezoid form, two sides painted with globes and crossed flags, one decorated with the quinta-colour flag of the Sun Yat-sen Republic, the other with four medallions with script, flanking a four-character mark of commendation, the sides with foliate and cell-diaper border, the reverse with two panels painted with united globes, pierced and reticulated sides, chips, hairline cracks and wear to the decoration, the taller 16,5cm high, 22,5cm wide
