About this Item
A 1.5 litre bottle of Kanonkop Cabernet Sauvignon 2001
Indulge in the rich and complex taste of Kanonkop Cabernet Sauvignon 2001, from the Simonsberg region in Stellenbosch. This excellent vintage was cultivated from 30-year-old vines, with no irrigation and a 5-wire hedge trellis. The decomposed granite/Hutton soil adds to its character by retaining water.
The wine was vinified in open fermenters at 29ºC for 4-5 days and underwent manual cap punching every hour. Afterwards, it was matured in 225 litre French Nevers oak barrels for 25 months, with 50% new and 50% second fill. This full-bodied wine boasts a deep red colour, with nutty and berry flavours that exhibit classic style and a complex palate, leading to a dry finish. This 1.5 litre bottle of Kanonkop Cabernet Sauvignon 2001 is an exceptional addition to any collection and a rare opportunity to experience the unique flavours of this vintage.
