Join us this Art Club at our Cape Town gallery for an evening filled with art, wine and a special focus on Eastern Cape Art and Cape Furniture. 

The art focus Crossing Frontiers: A Selection of Art from the Eastern Cape, is spearheaded by senior art specialist Ian Hunter who will share a lecture on the topic. 

“The Eastern Cape has inspired so many of the country’s great artists over the years and what makes this year’s Eastern Cape focus so special is its high quality of offerings across different time periods. The Eastern Cape session features works from the mid-nineteenth century to the present time. Some of the artists represented were born in the province, others have visited or studied there, but all the artists included in the session, have at some time, painted, lived in, or travelled through the Eastern Cape.” 

Opening alongside this timed online auction of Modern and Contemporary Art, our timed online sale of furniture features a strong selection of Cape pieces. This Art Club will introduce our growing Decorative Arts, Design and Jewellery Department. 

Our team of Strauss & Co specialists will be on hand to answer any questions and point out highlights from the upcoming auctions.
