Wimpie Nortje

Wimpie Nortje studied electronic engineering and philosophy at the University of Pretoria. For his engineering masters degree he focused on artificial intelligence. 

Wimpie started his electronic product development business while still a student. In 2014 he switched from hardware development to software development and started an Internet startup business focused on end-to-end cryptography. Later he joined another Internet startup as head of application infrastructure. During this period he also consulted to Strauss & Co on improving and growing the business through technology.

Wimpie joined Strauss & Co as Chief Technology Officer in 2021.
