George Fox

George Fox, born in 1816, was a highly skilled Victorian-era English silversmith renowned for the exceptional quality of his work and his strong reputation in the silver trade. Taking over the family business after the retirement of his brother, Charles Thomas Fox, George continued to produce fine silverware under his own marks, starting in 1861. His work was characterized by meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail, which earned him respect among collectors and fellow silversmiths alike. The Fox family firm maintained its high standards during his leadership. After his death, his son, Robert Frederick Fox, continued the business, which eventually closed in 1921. George Fox's legacy remains a testament to the skill and dedication that defined his body of work.
