Paul Storr

London, England

Paul Storr (1770–1844) was a renowned English silversmith whose work defined the Neoclassical style of the early nineteenth century. Celebrated for his exceptional craftsmanship, Storr's silver creations ranged from elegant tableware to grand ceremonial pieces, many of which were commissioned by royalty. His early success was fueled by his partnership with the influential silver retailer Rundell, Bridge and Rundell, but he later founded his own firm, Storr and Mortimer, in 1822. Storr's masterpieces, such as the "Battle of the Nile Cup" for Lord Nelson, have been displayed in royal palaces, stately homes, and museums worldwide. Storr's legacy continues to be honored, with his works held in prestigious collections like the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
