JL Wolf

Germany - Pfalz

J.L. Wolf Winery, now known as Villa Wolf, is a renowned winery located in the Pfalz wine region of Germany. The history of the winery dates back to the late 18th century when it was founded by Johann Adam Löwen. The estate was later purchased by the Forster family, and it was under the ownership of the Forsters that the initials "J.L." were added to the winery's name.

J.L. Wolf is recognized for producing high-quality wines, particularly Riesling, which is the flagship grape variety of the region. The Pfalz region is known for its diverse terroir, which includes a mix of soils and microclimates, ideal for producing a wide range of wines with distinct characteristics.

Ernst Loosen, of the Dr. Loosen estate, took over the vineyards in 1996, launching a dramatic turnaround in the estate’s quality and reputation. Erni’s goal at Villa Wolf is to produce wines that express the authentic terroir of the region.
