Mayacamas

California - Napa Valley 

Mayacamas Vineyards is a historic winery located near the summit of the Mount Veeder sub-appellation of Napa Valley. It is one of the region's most highly regarded producers of classic Cabernet Sauvignon, and is also known for its high quality white wines made from Chardonnay.

The Mayacamas vineyard is in the heart of the Mount Veeder AVA and sits above the fog line, where the vines benefit from warmer nights and cooler days than the Napa Valley floor. Well-drained soils with fairly low fertility mean the vines are stressed enough to produce a small amount of dense and complex fruit, with an ageworthy tannic structure.
