Providence

France - Bordeaux

Château Providence has a long history in Pomerol, with records dating back to the 1800s. Up until 1928, the estate was named Château Tropchaud until the Dupuy family purchased it and changed its name to Château La Providence. Another name change took place in 2005 when the estate changed hands again, now belonging to the Moueix family. They dropped the ‘La’, with the Château simply being called Providence from then onwards. The 30-year-old vines, grown on gravel and clay soils, produced a Merlot-dominated Bordeaux Blend. However, 2012 was the estate’s last vintage with few bottles remaining today.
