About this Item

2007 Chevalier-Montrachet
2 (1 x 2) 750ml

Bouchard Père et Fils is a sizable and historic Burgundy wine estate, based in Beaune. The largest vineyard owner in the Côte d'Or, it produces more than 100 wines mostly made from Pinot Noir or Chardonnay, in a range that also includes appellations in the Maconnais, Côte Chalonnaise and Beaujolais regions.

Bouchard Père et Fils is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy, founded in 1731. In 1995 it was sold to Joseph Henriot, and became part of Groupe La Vigie along with major brands like Champagne Henriot and Chablis' William Fèvre. Bouchard Père et Fils should not be confused with Bouchard Aîné et Fils, which is owned by Boisset.

Critics Ratings

‘Straddling richness and beautiful liveliness, this is going to be an impressive wine. It does need aging. At this stage, the wood is a big element, but then the bright white fruits - pears, white currants along with tangerines - will move center stage. Keep at least six years, almost certainly more.’ - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 95/100 (Jul 2010)

‘A dramatic and alluring display of floral perfume rises from the glass of Bouchard 2007 Chevalier-Montrachet, suggesting iris, hibiscus, lemon blossom, and lavender. These segue into lemon oil, white peach, and Persian melon on the palate, tinged with salt and chalk and leading to a buoyant finish of lip-smacking savor, ravishing floral persistence, and hypnotic subtlety. This should be capable of inducing a rapturous trance over the coming decade, and hopefully for longer.’ - David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, 95/100 (Dec 2009)

‘Both complex and fragrant – citrus freshness with nutty and spiced sweetness starting to show. Dry, fine, restrained. More elegance than power. Gentle chalky minerality on the finish.’ - Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (May 2009)
