About the SessionThe wines of Burgundy and single vineyard Champagnes are produced in small quantities and command high prices. Rarely traded, mature bottles are even more rare in our small market.
About this Item
The Coche-Dury estate was founded by Jean-François Coche’s grandfather in 1920. Jean-François Coche-Dury inherited the estate in 1972 and today runs the domaine with his son, Raphael. While they produce some of the best white wines from Burgundy, and have achieved cult status, their red Crus are equally as fine. The Coche-Dury wine-making practices are very traditional with exceptional attention to detail given.

Critics Ratings
‘Bit smudgy, could even be a herbal vapour with a kick at the end – some citrus or even citronella/lemongrass. Brilliant precision! Power and richness on the end. Cut glass, and so long.’ - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 18.5/20 (Oct 2010)
‘The 2009 Meursault Genevrières is similar in style to the Rougeots, which is to say quite big and rich, but here I find endless layers of minerality that frame the huge, building finish. The purity of the fruit is truly dazzling.’ - Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 96/100 (Aug 2011)
‘The 2009 Meursault Genevrières is well-defined on the nose and seems quite rich vis-à-vis other vintages. But that does not obstruct the minerality and detail, which hints of brioche and popcorn that enhance its extravagance. The palate is well-balanced with very good weight: candied orange peel, citrus lemon, touches of hazelnut with a dense, almost introspective finish that will surely come out from under its shell with time. Give this another 3-4 years in bottle.’ - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 93/100 (Oct 2014)
