About this Item

2014 Bouzeron
2 (1 x 2) 750ml

Domaine de Villaine is located in Bouzeron, nestled in the Côte Chalonnaise region of Burgundy, France. Owner and vigneron, Aubert de Villaine is the longtime co-director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and started producing wines in Bouzeron in the 1970’s, away from the limelight of Romanée-Conti. De Villaine attributes the exceptional quality of their wines to his long-standing commitment to biodynamic practices and organic production.

Organic Certification
Both farmed and made according to organic practices, certified by ECOCERT (mostly Europe) and other organisations.
Certified organically grown grapes - no use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. Use of certain cover crops, methods of soil care, and other specified vineyard care.
Wine made according to strict standards - use of approved, organic yeast, and no added sulfites or other specified additives. Does not imply that the wine is vegan (allows for specified fining agents (including egg whites) and enzymes). In certain regions this is extended to chaptalisation and acid addition.

Provenance

Restaurant Mosaic

Critics Ratings

‘Fragrant yet more peppery and mineral than fruity. A lovely clarity here. Fine, tight and very crisp with a slight chalkiness to the texture, somehow adding weight on the finish. Delicious as an aperitif or maybe with delicate white fish? May well age a lot longer than this but there’s no need to wait. I am impressed with the Aligotés I have tasted from this vintage.’ - Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16/20 (Jan 2016)
