About this Item
Jean-Paul Brun has been the proprietor of Domaine des Terres Dorées, producing Beaujolais wines in the village of Charnay since 1977. The domaine’s portfolio includes the appellations of Morgon, Fleurie, Côte de Brouilly, Moulin-à-Vent, and Beaujolais AOC. Today, the 44 hectares is mostly dedicated to the production of Gamay, using organic farming practices.
Organic Farming
Farmed and made according to organic practices. Main reason for not being certified is to allow for intervention should it be deemed necessary to maintain production.
Self-regulated application of the below practices in vineyard and/or cellar.
No use of synthetic fertilisers, pesticides, or herbicides. Use of certain cover crops, methods of soil care, and other specified vineyard care.
Wine made according to strict standards - use of approved, organic yeast, and no added sulfites or other specified additives. Does not imply that the wine is vegan (allows for specified fining agents (including egg whites) and enzymes). In certain regions this is extended to chaptalisation and acid addition.

Critics Ratings
‘Mid crimson. Very fragrant. Then substantial. Much chewier than the Morgon. Tastes much stronger than 12%, and set for the very long term. Ambitious wine that is light years from conventional mass-market Beaujolais.’ - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Jul 2010)
‘This lush, creamy red has vibrant acidity bolstering its ripe cherry, raspberry jam and fruitcake flavors, with sublayers of anise and clove and a thread of smoky mineral. Shows light grip, with lovely balance overall.’ - Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator, 92/100 (Feb 2011)
