the centre painted with a bird in flight above stylised foliage enclosed by foliate panels, wavy rim decorated with eight roundels each enclosing a bat, the reverse with a double spray of leaves, hairline crack, fritting chips to the rim, apocryphal underglaze-blue four-character and double-ring mark, 13cm diameter; and a Chinese famille-rose saucer dish, Qing Dynasty, 19th century, enamelled with a seated maiden reading and a warrior holding a sword and a whisk, with scroll and medallions with inscriptions, gilt rim, the reverse with three stylised bats, restored, red painted script mark, 12,5cm diameter
