About this Item

2013 Napa Valley Red Wine
2 (1 x 2) 750ml

Collectible wine and collectible art come together to create Amuse Bouche Napa Valley Red Blend, a joint wine venture with Heidi Barrett and John Schwartz. This Pomerol-style Merlot/Cabernet Franc blend is made from some of the best grape sources in the Napa Valley. Amuse Bouche wine aspires to rival its greatest cross-Atlantic counterparts, such as Chateau Petrus and Chateau Le Pin. As winemaker for several of the hottest cult wines in California, and referred to by TIME magazine as "The Wine Diva of Napa", Heidi Barrett is always looking for new challenges. Heidi explains, "We have created Amuse Bouche wine, a limited edition, superb Pomerol style wine with the added value of limited edition art that is available to consumers through a variety of channels."

The flagship wine of Amuse Bouche, has always been one of the best Merlot-based wines in Northern California.

THE ARTIST: LEROY NEIMAN
LeRoy Neiman's "Sun Drenched Table" is the second piece of art commissioned from him to adorn an Amuse Bouche vintage. The bounty of colors and the complexity of this exquisite watercolor perfectly complement the 2013 wine Heidi has crafted. They were very fortunate to have known LeRoy for nearly ten years. This painting is one of his final works. LeRoy passed away in June 2012 at the age of 91 years.

Neiman often is described as an American impressionist. He employed a distinctive vivacity of color to evoke the subject, create the narrative and set the mood. His works hang in many renowned museums, including the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. Today, Neiman originals sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars, and his signed lithographs often command close to $5,000.

Critics Ratings

‘Lastly, the flagship wine of Amuse Bouche, the 2013 Proprietary Red Blend Amuse Bouche (Merlot), 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, has always been one of the best Merlot-based wines in Northern California. It shows loads of espresso bean, white chocolate, mocha, black cherry and blackberry fruit. The wine is soft, but structured, vibrant, juicy and full-bodied. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.’ - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 94/100 (Dec 2015)

‘Dense and compact, this red is built for the cellar. Aromas of black currant and orange zest open to firm but complex flavors of blackberry, crushed stone and cedar. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2018 through 2024. 625 cases made.’ - Tim Fish, Wine Spectator, 90/100 (May 16)
