About this Item
Screaming Eagle is California's original cult wine and still lays claim to the country’s most highly prized and sought after label. The Cabernet-based wine has been produced in tiny quantities from a small, unmarked vineyard in the Oakville AVA of the Napa Valley, since 1992. Due to the small quantities produced and high prices commanded, their wines are considered cult wines. This wine regularly scores top marks from US and International wine critics and is only available on allocation directly from the winery.
Beginning with the 2010 vintage of Screaming Eagle, Second Flight and The Flight wines, all bottles have been applied with a bubble coded security system which enables the verification of authenticity. This label is placed between the foil and the bottle creating a security seal that cannot be detached without the seal and foil being visibly damaged.

Critics Ratings
‘Very deep garnet-purple colored, the 2013 Second Flight simply sings of spiced blueberries, black forest cake and preserved plums with suggestions of star anise, baker’s chocolate, fertile loam and dried Provence herbs with a hint of lavender. Big, concentrated, full-bodied and packed to the gills with black fruits, exotic spice and floral layers, it has a firm frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with epic length and loads of layers. Still very taut, it needs at least another 2-3 years in bottle. Interestingly, this full-on hedonistic vintage has one of the largest Merlot contributions ever for this wine: 65% Merlot with 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Cabernet Franc.’ - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate, 96+/100 (Apr 2018)
‘A blend containing more Merlot and Cabernet Franc, Screaming Eagle's second wine is more floral and perfumed, revealing a fragrant bouquet of bright raspberry, rose petal, tobacco and spearmint. Supple and savoury, this wine appeals for its aromatic amplitude and classical profile.’ - William Kelley, Decanter, 94/100 (May 2016)
