About this Item
After nearly 2 decades at La Motte, Jacques Borman established family-owned Boschkloof in 1996 and built a reputation with these quality, structured, long-lived Stellenbosch reds, most notably Syrah, earning him a membership with the Cape Winemakers Guild. Around the turn of the last decade the arrival of his son Reenen onto the scene (also behind the successful Patatsfontein, Kottabos and Sons of Sugarland) saw the bar being raised even further, with many commentators tipping him as one to watch in terms of next generation Cape winemakers.

Critics Ratings
"I’m making this for Syrah fanatics”, says Reenen Borman. Lucky them is all I can say, because this is another stunning release from a brilliant young winemaker. Intense, granitic and spicy, with lovely lavender and garrigue aromas, layers of dark, inky fruit, stylish oak and amazing length. What more do you want from a Syrah? 2020-30.’ - Tim Atkin SA Special Report 2018, 98/100
‘Single-vineyard Shiraz, like 2015 (90 pts). More expressive and fascinating than the Syrah. A floral note (lilies) is part of the dark fruit complexity and finesse of 2016, lifted by 25% bunch ferment, supported by judicious oaking (20% new). Firmly built. Long-lingering dry finish.’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2019, 4.5* (94/100)
'The 2016 Epilogue, the flagship label from Boschkloof. It has am irresistible bouquet of white pepper and garrigue scents. The palate is medium-bodied, with supple tannin, garrigue infused red fruit and touches of brown spice and black olive toward the long, sustained and approachable finish. Excellent. ' -Neal Martin, Vinous, 92/100 (Aug 2018)
