Boemo Diale is a multidisciplinary artist currently studying film and television at the University of the Witwatersrand. She grew up among various racial structures in Rustenburg, Mafikeng and the suburbs of Johannesburg. Her works reflect the inner workings of her child-self that existed in the liminal spaces between rural and urban. Her works reflect nuances of gender, race, culture, identity, mental health and spirituality. The works are often playful, cathartic, child-like reflections of the inner workings of her personal world. She will be participating in a group exhibition, Blue Tape Series, from 11 September 2022 at P72, Johannesburg.

This lot is the work of one of the 16 finalists of the Emerging Painting Invitational Prize (EPI) 2022. This is an international art platform developed by the African Art Galleries Association (AAGA) to support and recognise the excellence of emerging painters living and working on the continent.
