About this Item
Reyneke is one of 5 Stellenbosch properties to get First Growth status in Tim Atkin's 2017 SA Report. Reyneke farm began in 1863 when it was then named 'Uitzicht', meaning 'view'. It is located overlooking Stellenbosch and False Bay with north, south and east facing slopes. Reyneke is certified organic and biodynamic and follows sustainable practices in everything they do. 'Their wines demonstrate the care they take, not infallible wines, rather honest and personality-driven wines that are distinctive, as much cerebral as sensory experiences,' says Neal Martin.

Critics Ratings
‘2009 has a stunning nose of coriander, white pepper & dry spices. The bold palate shows off plush shiraz spice & vibrant fruit, while dash cab adds to fine structure. All elements harmoniously poised to evolve over next 10 years or so.’ – Platter’s SA Wine Guide, 4.5*
‘The 2009 Reserve Red is a blend of 90% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a very well defined bouquet with blackberry, marmalade and orange blossom, the Cabernet imparting a scent of graphite. The palate is medium-bodied with quite strict fresh tannins. This is not a voluptuous wine, but rather linear and focused with great freshness and vivacity towards the citric finish. It has enormous length and breadth. This is a superb Syrah that should age with style.’ – Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 94/100 (Dec 2012)
‘90% Syrah and 10% Cabernet. Deep layered crimson. Broad and covers all the bases. Spicy. Lots of vitality. Very rich but not at all sweet.’ – Jancis Robinson, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Jan 2015)
