About this Item

1998 Romanée St Vivant
1 (1 x 1) 750ml

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is one of the most enigmatic names in the wine world, conjuring up notions of exclusivity and desirability. It is the only Burgundy wine producer with a status comparable to the top Bordeaux producers. Its prestige, and historical links with royalty, has made it the foremost name in Burgundy, a region which has been experiencing significantly increased demand over recent years, becoming a priority for international collectors.

One of the most renowned vineyards in the world, located in the commune of Vosne-Romanée. The wines of incredible Grand cru sites of Échézeaux, Grands Échézeaux, La Tâche, Richebourg and Romanée-Saint-Vivant, are praised for their subtle and mysterious nature.

Guided by the relentless pursuit of excellence, passed down from generation to generation, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti’s mission is to make its Grands Crus the greatest in all of Burgundy. Few would dispute that the wines of DRC are some of the world’s finest.

Critics Ratings

‘A beautifully spicy nose of wonderfully complex and now fully mature secondary fruit aromas. The medium full, rich and equally spicy flavors are shaped by now relatively pliant tannins on the delicious, balanced and lingering finish.’ - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 91/100 (Apr 2015)

‘Saturated ruby-red. Sappy, rather wild aromas of raspberry, smoke, tar and mulch; more deeply pitched than the Grands-Échézeaux but still quite tangy. Fat, sweet and full, flavors of redcurrant and iron. Fairly rich wine, finishing with good breadth and dusty, slightly dry tannins. Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 90/100 (Mar 2001)
