Notes
João (c.1939 – c.2000) was one of the famous Kruger National Park 'Magnificent Seven' – seven elephants with the largest tusks on record. At one time he was one of the largest bull elephants in the park, with tusks that were 271 and 250cm long and weighing 70 and 60kg, respectively. He survived an attack by AK-47 wielding poachers in 1982 and was often seen in the area near the Shingwedzi rest camp until 2000.
An information sheet about the elephant accompanies the lot.
