'Vibrant blue fruit supported by rosemary, thyme and fynbos notes. Balance and poise on this benchmark Cabernet Franc in low-yield decomposed dolomite granite soils. 25% new French oak, 18 months add to 2014's bold tannin foundation, assuring a great future. Consistently excellent.' - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2017, 4.5*
'The 2014 Family Cabernet Franc comes from the Raats family's oldest and highest vineyard grown in cooler conditions. It has an open and energetic aniseed-tinged bouquet that blossoms in the glass, hints of allspice and clove emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a harmonious, smooth entry, perhaps a little more nimble on its toes compared to the 2013, with touches of oregano and white pepper sprinkled over the long finish. Whilst a different stylistic proposition to the 2013, it has just as much to offer.' - Neal Martin, WIne Advocate, 93/100 (Apr 2017)
