About this Item
Located on the Pomerol plateau, Château La Fleur-Pétrus gets its name from its neighbouring châteaux, namely Château Petrus and Château Lafleur. Jean-Pierre Moueix purchased Château La Fleur-Pétrus in 1953 and the wines saw a clear improvement thereafter. The vineyards are made up of three parcels and most of the terroir is gravel with clay soils.

Critics Ratings
‘A very ripe, complex nose of black fruit, tobacco and burnt toast. A ripe, tannic palate with good fruit concentration. Balanced and harmonious. Moderate grip. An engaging wine with an iron-y finish. Great potential. A very fragrant nose of ripe black fruit and tobacco. Very intense. The palate has great definition with ripe, black fruits and sturdy tannins. Blackberry, here a hint of liquorice. Moderate grip and quite iron-y on the finish that has very good length. An excellent Lafleur-Pétrus.’ - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 94-96/100 (Apr 2005)
‘A superb wine this is going to be. It is rich, elegant, poised, with its super-ripe, but still fresh, berry fruit flavors exhibiting much of the richness of Merlot when it has been ripened slowly and surely. While this has less intensity than its neighbor of Château Pétrus, the Cabernet Franc in the blend gives it intriguing perfumes.’ - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 93/100 (Jun 2007)
