Critics Ratings
‘Classically styled 2006: austere, dry and refreshing but plenty meat to flesh out the firm frame in due course. 5% splash each Cabernet Franc and Merlot spice cassis concentration. French oak, 70% new, adds cedar dimension, support.’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2011, 4.5*
‘Good dark red. Blackcurrant, pepper, dark chocolate, coffee, mocha, licorice and a whiff of wild herbs on the inviting nose. Then savoury, suave and dry, with a restrained sweetness to the complex flavors of dark berries, plum, pepper, licorice and minerals. This energetic Cabernet really saturates the mouth with flavor, but it should put on more weight with time in bottle. Finishes lively and long, with a slight youthful austerity to the firm tannins.’ - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 91+/100 (Mar 2011)
