The Fabulous Picture Show
About the SessionThe Fabulous Picture Show is an annual fundraising auction held by the Friends of the Tatham Art Gallery, to raise funds for the purchase of new art works for the Tatham Art Gallery permanent collection. It is essential for an art museum collection to grow on a regular basis, in order to reflect the dynamic nature of South African artistic production. Without a purchasing budget and ongoing acquisitions, the collection would remain stagnant.

Raised in the farming community of Besters (Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal) Jacobs has focused largely on the ‘spaces’ that define her identity – home and the lovely Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal. Jacobs is a practising artist, and art teacher and has work in public and private collections. Through her teaching, Jacobs is dedicated to providing a sound education to all, and is committed to raising the standards of artistic education where pupils can reach their full creative potential.
