The Fabulous Picture Show
About the SessionThe Fabulous Picture Show is an annual fundraising auction held by the Friends of the Tatham Art Gallery, to raise funds for the purchase of new art works for the Tatham Art Gallery permanent collection. It is essential for an art museum collection to grow on a regular basis, in order to reflect the dynamic nature of South African artistic production. Without a purchasing budget and ongoing acquisitions, the collection would remain stagnant.

Notes
Philippa Kerr studied Fine Art and Psychology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Pietermaritzburg. She went on obtain a PhD in Psychology and has worked as a researcher and lecturer at several universities. She now lives in Kloof where she is turning her attention to various art forms including linocut printing and patchwork quilts. She is a postdoctoral research fellow affiliated with the Psychology department at Stellenbosch University.
