The Fabulous Picture Show
About the SessionThe Fabulous Picture Show is an annual fundraising auction held by the Friends of the Tatham Art Gallery, to raise funds for the purchase of new art works for the Tatham Art Gallery permanent collection. It is essential for an art museum collection to grow on a regular basis, in order to reflect the dynamic nature of South African artistic production. Without a purchasing budget and ongoing acquisitions, the collection would remain stagnant.

Notes
Terence King obtained an MAFA degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. He has taught at the Technikon Natal, UNISA, the University of the Witwatersrand and was professor in Fine Art at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is currently a practising artist, resident in Johannesburg. He has participated in approximately 50 group exhibitions and 14 joint or one-person exhibitions and is represented in public collections, including the South African National Gallery, the Durban Art Gallery, the Tatham Art Gallery and several university collections.
