About this Item
Giuseppe Quintarelli is a legendary property located in the hills of northern Verona, in the heart of the Valpolicella appellation. In 1950, Giuseppe Quintarelli took over the management of his family’s vineyards and winery and built up his legacy as the godfather of Amarone. A true perfectionist, Giuseppe only allowed his world-renowned Amarone della Valpolicella to be made in the very best years. Over a 60-year period, Giuseppe made the estate one of the most celebrated wineries in Veneto. After passing away in 2012, Giuseppe’s daughter Fiorenza, son-in-law Giampaolo, and his grandsons Francesco and Lorenzo, continue to produce masterful, artisan wines of the highest quality.

Critics Ratings
‘The beautifully refined 2004 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico captures the magic and the grace of classic Quintarelli. The only problem is getting your hands on one of these very hard to find bottles. The bouquet is delicate and feminine with enduring tones of wild berry, forest floor, balsam herb, cola and sweet almond. The wine's texture is silky and long with an impressive level of polish on the tannins. The 2004 vintage is especially prone to long aging.’ - Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, 95/100 (Dec 2014)
‘The 2004 Amarone is a powerhouse. Over the last year, the 2004 has completely shut down, so readers will have to be patient. The silkiness and allure the 2004 showed when it was first bottled is there, but the fruit is presently hiding beneath a wall of imposing structure. Dried flowers, lavender, sweet tobacco and cedar are some of the notes that add complexity on the finish.’ - Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 96/100 (Jul 2015)
