Critics Ratings
Paolo Scavino Barolo Bricco Ambrogio 2010
'Juicy and packed with cherry, black currant, violet, licorice and spice flavors, riding a wave of vibrant acidity. Tannins lend support, allowing this to cruise to a long aftertaste, courtesy of the driving acidity. Best from 2018 through 2032.' - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 96/100 (Dec 2014)
'Delicate aromas of ripe berry, tilled soil, rose petals and white pepper waft out of the glass. The palate is still a bit shy but extremely elegant, revealing bright wild cherry, orange peel and cinnamon perfectly balanced with youthfully bracing tannins and nervous acidity that need time to soften. Drink after 2020.' - Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, 93/100 (Oct 2014)
Paolo Scavino Barolo Monvigliero 2010
'Intense scents of rose, wisteria, red berry, herbs and baking spices take center stage. The vibrant palate seamlessly weaves together red cherry, black raspberry, cinnamon, clove and mint, with a blast of orange peel on the finish. Velvety tannins make this tempting now but it also shows aging potential. Drink 2020-2040.' - Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, 97/100 (Oct 2014)
'Rich and spicy, with cherry flavors tinged by licorice and menthol notes. Firm tannins add support to this solid, medium-weight style. Lingers on the finish but needs some time to hit its stride. Best from 2017 through 2028. 396 cases made.' - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 92/100 (Feb 2015)
