Located in the Elgin Valley within Kogelberg Biosphere, Shannon Vineyards is owned by brothers Stuart and James Downes. James and Kevin Watt form the illustrious viticulturist team and the winemakers are the illustrious Gordon and Nadia Newton Johnson. They follow a philosophy of minimal intervention allowing them to produce wines with a distinct character.
This iconic wine is made to truly respect and express the Shannon Vineyards terroir. It is made up of 5 Merlot clones; each wild fermented and matured separately. Finally, they are meticulously blended to create a perfect and unique representation of the oldest Merlot Vineyard in the Elgin valley.
