About this Item

1995 Geyserville
1 (1 x 1) 750ml

In 1962, Ridge made its first Monte Bello, and two years later its first zinfandel. Since that time, Ridge has championed single-vineyard winemaking, searching California for those rare and exceptional vineyards where climate, soil, and variety are ideally matched. For more than six decades, Ridge has been recognized by top critics, chefs and peers for consistent quality and steadfast approach to winemaking. Ridge is the largest farmer of organically certified grapes in Sonoma County and the Santa Cruz Mountains Appellation.

Geyserville is one of Ridge Vineyards' most iconic and historic vineyard sites, located in the Alexander Valley AVA of Sonoma County. This region is known for its warm climate and diverse soil types, which are well-suited to growing Zinfandel and other Mediterranean varieties. It is primarily a Zinfandel-based field blend produced from old vines grown.

Critics Ratings

‘Lovely aged elements on the nose and through the palate bring delicious depth with still vibrant acidity. Delicious, mouth-watering, succulent palate. Notes of spiced stone fruits with pepper accents and a bit of wet tobacco. Incredibly persistent, and quite palate stimulating. Lovely fine-grained tannins and a very long finish.’ - Elaine Chukan Brown, jancisrobinson.com, 17.5+/20 (Oct 2018)

‘Pushes ripeness to the max and touches on raisin, dried plum and wild berry, with hints of sage and mint. On the finish, the rich flavors push through. Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignane and Mataro.--Blind California Zinfandel retrospective. Drink now.’ – James Laube, Wine Spectator
