About this Item
With a long history going as far back as the 15th century, Château Suduiraut is found in the commune of Preignac, in Sauternes, and shares a border with Château d'Yquem. In 1855, the estate was classed as a Premier Cru during the official wine classification program in the Gironde winegrowing area. Since 1992, Suduiraut has been under the same ownership as Château Pichon-Longueville and Château Petit-Village. Inspired by the great Suduiraut wines of the past, the new management has enabled this great vineyard to fulfil its full potential.
The vineyard is situated in the heart of the Sauternes appellation, close to the famous Château d'Yquem.

‘Gorgeous aromas of honey, passion fruit, mango and candied lemon rind. Full-bodied and ultraconcentrated, yet balanced and refined. It lasts for minutes on the palate. This has just about everything in the right place. Stunning.' - Wine Spectator, 98/100
‘The Suduiraut 2001 has an attractive bouquet of honeycomb, passion fruit and a touch of petrol that are well defined, if not as complex as more recent vintages such as the 2009. The palate is well balanced with fine citrus lemon and apricot notes. This is very harmonious and focused, although it does not quite fan out with the precocity you might expect. This was Christian Seely’s first vintage at the estate, and while it is an excellent wine, I think he has overseen even better vintages since then. 2014-2034’ - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 94/100 (2014)
