About the Session

A number of high-quality and desirable botanical, bird and wildlife artworks – all by established twentieth-century artists, including Dick Findlay, Johan Hoekstra, Bronwyn Mellor and Kenneth Newman – are being de-accessioned from the FirstRand (including FNB and RMB) corporate art collection as the acquisition policy is being streamlined to facilitate re-investing in contemporary South African art.

The FirstRand Art Acquisition Policy has been streamlined and has resulted in the collection requiring deaccessioning of an extensive range of high-quality and desirable botanical, bird and wildlife artworks – all by established twentieth century artists.

All proceeds from these auctions will be re-invested in contemporary South African art.
