This drawing is a study for the painting Oorlog by Frans Oerder.
The reverse of the work is inscribed in Dutch "Dit is het werk van mijn swager Frans Oerder", and signed by AJ Graafland-Pitlo, who was married to Maria Catharina Graafland, Oerder's wife Gerda's sister.
