About this Item
André Perret grew up in Chavanay in the Northern Rhône Valley. In 1982, he returned home after completing a degree in viticulture and oenology and tended to some of his uncle’s vines. At the time Chavanay was in decline with only a couple of winemakers but André believed in the local terroirs and worked hard to promote the area and expand his own estate. Today, he is surrounded by many young, passionate vignerons. André is classic in his philosophy of respecting each individual terroir. He aims to make fresh and well-structured wines and his Condrieu bottlings are the standard-bearers for the entire appellation.
This collection consists of the following wines:
André Perret Condrieu 2013 (1 x 750ml)
André Perret Condrieu Coteau de Chéry 2012 (1 x 750ml)
André Perret Condrieu Coteau de Chéry 2013 (2 x 750ml)
The Coteau de Chéry is André Perret's finest Condrieu cuvée, made from a three-hectare plot of old vines on steep terraces of well exposed vines.

André Perret Condrieu 2013
‘Very fine and intense indeed. Really rich and on the cusp of exotically tropical but with great intensity and it could only be Condrieu. Really very glamorous and exciting but not sweet nor flabby. Still a little to chew on.’ – Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Nov 2014)
‘The entry-level 2013 Condrieu is a fabulous success of the vintage. It's gorgeously perfumed and has terrific notes of white peach, exotic flowers, apricot and subtle citrus blossom all emerging from the glass. Rich, textured and medium to full-bodied, the single-vineyard releases get all the accolades, but don't miss this beauty.’ – Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, 93/100 (Dec 2014)
‘Light yellow. Spicy orange pith, green apple and floral aromas are underscored by an intense mineral quality. On the palate, nervy citrus and orchard fruit flavors deepen and stretch out with air, picking up a hint of smokiness on the back half. Finishes tangy and long, leaving a sexy honeysuckle note behind.’ – Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 91/100 (Dec 2014)
André Perret Condrieu Coteau de Chéry 2012
‘Vivid yellow-gold. Powerful, expansive aromas of nectarine, candied citrus fruits, fresh fig and white flowers, with a hint of smokiness in the background. Dry, fleshy citrus and pit fruit flavors become spicier with air, picking up a touch of iodine. The smoky quality comes back on the mineral-driven finish, which shows a compelling blend of power and finesse. This gorgeous Condrieu has the depth and balance to age.’ – Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 93/100 (Dec 2014)
‘Much better balance between oak and fruit here than in the Clos Chanson. Touch of orange on the nose, sour citrus freshness and marked intensity and length. Needs time to meld and become less strident. A slight bitterness on the finish.’ – Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Nov 2013)
‘The 2012 Condrieu Coteaux du Chery, which comes from one of the most heralded sites in the appellation, is also brilliant (as is his 2011!). The most rich and textured of the lineup, it offers thrilling notes of white peach, crushed rock, buttered grapefruit, flowers and tangerine to go with a medium to full-bodied, layered, yet brilliantly fresh and detailed texture that keeps you coming back to the glass. It too will drink nicely for 4-5 years.’ – Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, 95/100 (Dec 2013)
André Perret Condrieu Coteau de Chéry 2013
‘Brought up in 20% new oak, the 2013 Condrieu Coteau du Chery is a bigger, richer, more concentrated wine in the vintage than the Clos Chanson (which is the opposite from 2014). A touch unruly at the moment and in need of six to 12 months in bottle, it offers serious notes of caramelized stone fruits, apple blossom and honeysuckle to go with full-bodied richness, a big mid-palate, and plenty of cut and definition on the finish. It should be at its best from 2017-2021.’ - Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, 93+/100 (Dec 2015)
‘Heady and savoury at the same time. This has shades of mango juice (which may put some people off) and is hugely dramatic. Long and rich yet not flabby. Good structure.’ – Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 18/20 (Nov 2014)
‘Bright yellow. Highly perfumed aromas of fresh nectarine, orange zest and violet are complicated by a chalky mineral overtone and a suave floral character. Minerally and incisive on the palate, offering vibrant citrus and orchard fruit flavors and a sexy honeysuckle nuance. Closes with a powerful jolt of chalky minerals and excellent clarity, leaving nervy orange pith and pear notes behind.’ – Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 92/100 (Dec 2014)
