About this Item
Founded in 1928 and known for their elegant, flinty style, Domaine Huets’ Vouvrays are amongst the longest lasting white wines in the world! Produced from 3 Chenin Blanc vineyards in varying degrees of sweetness depending on the vintage, the hallmark of Huet’s wines is their unmistakable freshness and natural acidity. Due to its extremely shallow, stony soils, Clos du Bourg often synthesizes Le Mont’s intense minerality with Le Haut-Lieu’s generous texture.
This 9 hectare vineyard, located on the upper part of the Vouvrillon plateau, was the first acquired by the Huet family, in 1928. The soil here is quite deep and almost exclusively clayey. This helps to give this vintage substance and depth. The southern exposure combined with the relative coolness of the plateau allows the Chenin to reach, slowly but surely, its perfect maturity.

Critics Ratings
‘Deeper flavoured than the Chenin des Rouillères 2011. With more honey and more wet wool. Lots to get your teeth into but awfully young for the moment.’ – Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16+/20 (Mar 2012)
‘Classic. Beautiful acidity is balanced by just a touch of sweetness. The wine is bright with apple and lime flavors.’ – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 92/100 (Jun 2011)
‘Superracy, floral and pure, with enticing ginger, quince and mineral flavors that ripple through the filigreed finish. Lovely orange blossom and honeysuckle notes fill in the background. Dry, but still generous, with impressive length. Best from 2013 through 2018.’ – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 92/100 (Dec 2011)
