Strauss & Co honours Madiba’s legacy to contribute towards a positive change in our communities. This year, in recognition of Mandela Day, we will donate the entire commission from the sale of the present lot, Hylton Nel Madiba bowl, to the Realema Teacher Intern Programme, an organisation dedicated to education.

The Raelema Teacher Intern Programme provides bursaries to talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to pursue teaching degrees. The programme supports sustainable careers in teaching through financial aid and valuable work experience, helping recipients break the cycle of poverty. This programme perfectly aligns with our educational objectives of fostering talent and skills within our community by empowering dedicated teachers with necessary resources for educating future leaders.

As part of our Mandela Day activities, our dedicated staff across all offices will devote their 67 minutes to preparing sandwiches for those in need.
