About this Item
Established in Vougeot in 1962 by Alain Hudelot, Domaine Hudelot-Noellat has quietly risen to the top echelon of Cote de Nuits producers. In 2008, Alain retired and his grandson Charles van Canneyt took over, making wines of great refinement and complexity. They farm sustainably on their 10 ha of vineyards planted across 15 different appellations, spread over the villages of Nuits-Saint-George, Vougeot, Chambolle- Musigny and Vosne-Romane´e. This includes the Grands Crus Romane´e-Saint-Vivant, Richebourg and Clos de Vougeot. Hudelot-Noe¨llat is known for its old vines which average more than 50 years old with several vineyards dating back to 1920. The Hudelot-Noe¨llat wines are always the most elegant in a line-up. Their fresh acidity, deft use of oak and terroir-driven style appeals to the traditional Burgundy-lover seeking long-ageing wines.

Critics Ratings
2011:
'Still transparent (like the Bourgogne) but with much greater concentration of fruit. Really lively. Well done! Not trying to extract too much…' - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Jan 2013)
'Good bright red. Pretty aromas of red cherry, raspberry and flowers. Juicy, fresh and precise, with a light touch to its red berry flavors. More flavor authority here than the Chambolle is showing today, but youthfully taut. Finishes with slightly dusty tannins and good lift.' - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (Jan 2013)
2013:
'Charles Hudelot took over from his grandfather Alain in 2008 and works 6ha over 10 appellations. This village wine is made from some of the youngest vines, planted in 1982 (most of the other vineyards are from the 1950s or 1920s). Perfumed and charming, it has strawberry and delicate red cherry fruit characters. The palate is succulent with silky tannins and nice weight. Compared to the Les Beaumonts 1er Cru, this offers excellent value.' - Christelle Guibert, Decanter.com, 92/100 (Jun 2016)
'Bright, dark red. Blueberry, blackberry, licorice and crushed stone on the nose. Juicy, penetrating and tight but not hard, conveying lovely inner-mouth aromatic lift to the dark berry flavors. This superb, youthful village wine shows excellent structure and lingering perfume. More impressive from bottle than it was from barrel.' - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 90+/100 (Nov 2015)
'The 2013 Vosne-Romanée Village has a delicate red cherry, bergamot and strawberry-scented bouquet that gently unfolds but never gets carried away. The palate is well balanced with confit-like red berry fruit, strawberry jam and boysenberry, revealing satisfying weight on the finish. This has very good potential for a Village Cru and comes strongly recommended for those who cannot afford the Grand Crus.' - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate (Dec 2014)
