About this Item
Founded in 1858 as Domaine Robert Arnoux, the domaine was renamed in 2008 to reflect the fact that Pascal Lachaux, husband of Florence Arnoux, was running the estate. Sixth-generation Charles has since taken the helm.
‘A bright new star’ (Jancis Robinson MW), Charles Lachaux has overseen a meteoric rise in the quality of viticulture, range and profile at Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, ‘a key member of an influential group of younger vigerons’ (Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy), with allocations increasingly difficult to acquire.

Critics Ratings
‘Lightish cherry red. Cherry-fruited, lifted tangy fragrance. Deep and gently chewy on the palate, some oak spice and sweetness but not dominating the fruit. Tannins are still quite firm but rounded’ – Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Sep 2019)
‘Lush, with a spicy cast to the cherry and raspberry flavors. A tug of war between the supple texture and firm, resonant tannins carries all the way through the long, earthy finish. Shows fine balance and length overall. Best from 2022 through 2038.’ – Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 93/100 (Apr 2019)
‘The 2016 Nuits-Saint-Georges Village displays attractive aromas of dark berries, grilled game, rich soil and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with tangy acids and lots of fine-grained but youthfully chewy structure. Above all, the wine's liveliness and energy distinguish it.’ – William Kelley, Wine Advocate (Jan 2019)
‘The 2016 Nuits Saint-Georges Villages has an open-knit, crushed strawberry and woodland scented nose, almost malic in style perhaps due to the 70% stem addition. The palate is fleshy with ample grip, very sappy in style with blackberry and tart red fruit on the finish that lingers in the mouth. What an excellent Village Cru!’ – Neal Martin, Vinous, 90/100 (Mar 2018)
“This is one of those tastings where I had to completely forget my experiences and prejudices towards the wines I tasted for many years. Without wishing any disrespect to Pascal, Charles has completely reinvented the domaine to create wines that express far more terroir, purity and elegance than those of his father.” Neal Martin, Vinous (July 2018)
'A pretty and perfumed nose speaks of red berries and earth and the latter can be found in abundance on the relatively refined medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a mildly austere finale. This is really quite good and also worth considering for a wine that should drink well both young and with a few years of bottle age.' Drink 2022+, 89-91 Burghound
