About this Item

2016 Vosne-Romanée
1 (1 x 1) 750ml

Founded in 1858 as Domaine Robert Arnoux, the domaine was renamed in 2008 to reflect the fact that Pascal Lachaux, husband of Florence Arnoux, was running the estate. Sixth-generation Charles has since taken the helm.

‘A bright new star’ (Jancis Robinson MW), Charles Lachaux has overseen a meteoric rise in the quality of viticulture, range and profile at Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, ‘a key member of an influential group of younger vigerons’ (Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy), with allocations increasingly difficult to acquire.

Critics Ratings

‘Tighter-knit and more reticent than the 2017 rendition, the 2016 Vosne-Romanée Village exhibits notes of dark plummy fruit, blood orange, grilled game and spices. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, firm and chewy, with juicy acids and good depth and length. I suspect that this cuvée will gain immensely over the coming years as Charles Lachaux's vineyard work makes more and more of a difference.’ – William Kelley, Wine Advocate (Jan 2019)

‘Some evolution evident on the nose; much more complexity than the other 2016 village wines from this address. Lots of juice and energy. A really very fine example. Lots of texture but the tannins are finer than the in the Chambolle.’ – Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Mar 2018)

‘The 2016 Vosne-Romanée Village has a complex bouquet with brambly red fruit, smoke and a slight peatiness that develops with time. The palate is sappy on the entry with fine but firm tannin. There is impressive fruit concentration here with a grippy and quite masculine finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle. Excellent.’ – Neal Martin, Vinous, 91/100 (Mar 2018)

'A spicy mix of both red and dark currant combines with notes of violet, tea and clove. This is also exceptionally intense with excellent detail and punch to the medium-bodied, sappy and caressing flavors that deliver first-rate persistence for a villages level Vosne. This too is worth a look provided you have at least some patience.' - Drink 2023+, 89-91, Burghound
