About this Item

2006 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Gruenchers
1 (1 x 1) 750ml

Domaine Dujac was established in 1967 by Jacques Seysses when he purchased Domaine Marcel Graillet, a poor estate of only 4.5 hectares, and renamed it Domaine du Jacques. Overtime, the name evolved into Domaine Dujac – a playful moniker. Today, they hold around 14.5 hectares and cultivate 18.5 hectares in total. Buying parcels as they became available, the domaine expanded over the years and now owns some of the most exceptional holdings, including the Grands Crus of Echézeaux, Bonnes-Mares, Clos Saint Denis, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Charmes-Chambertin and Clos de la Roche. Aiming for elegance, finesse and complexity, the quality of their seven Grands Crus is a testament to the domaine being one of the Burgundy’s leading producers.

The 2006 Dujac Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Gruenchers is a notable wine from Domaine Dujac, one of the most respected producers in Burgundy. This Premier Cru comes from the Les Gruenchers vineyard, located in the village of Chambolle-Musigny, known for producing wines with elegance, finesse, and aromatic complexity.

Critics Ratings

‘Smoky black tea, sweet floral perfume, and oriental spices greet the nose from the glass of Dujac 2006 Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruenchers. Subtly creamy in texture, this displays clarity to inner mouth perfume, spice, and saline, chalky mineral nuances that is exceptional for the vintage. Despite the textural allure, it finishes with a penetration, rectitude, and hint of bitterness that for some tasters may add up to a touch of austerity, yet preserves a wealth of floral and mineral nuances as well as genuine refreshment. I expect this will be best enjoyed over the next 5-7 years.’ – David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, 91/100 (Dec 2009)

‘Good bright, dark red. Musky aromas of redcurrant and raspberry. Supple and sweet if not particularly complex, with a finer grain than the Combottes. Flavors of red fruits and smoke linger on the finish, which shows a light dusting of tannins. Very nicely balanced wine.’ – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 90+/100 (Mar 2008)

‘A very Chambolle nose of high-toned raspberry and cherry aromas complements well the sweet, round and seductively textured flavors that possess excellent mid-palate concentration and outstanding depth on the punchy and palate staining finish. There is ample dry extract here and this should age very well as it's both balanced and blessed with impressive raw materials.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 90-93/100 (Jan 2008)
