About this Item

1999 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées
2 (1 x 2) 750ml

Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier was founded in 1863 by Frédéric Mugnier’s great-great-grandfather. In 1985, Frederic – a fifth generation Mugnier – took over, and somehow managed to combine the running of the property with his job as an airline pilot. He now focuses his efforts solely on winemaking. The estate is renowned for its Chambolle-Musigny and is the second largest owner in Musigny.

Critics Ratings

‘A deeply colored wine that reveals flavors of raspberries and firm wood. It is broad and rich, with dark tannins, leaving a clean, fresh, poised taste of acidity and sweet fruits. The wine is still coming together, but promises to age well—give it at least five years.’ - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 91/100 (Nov 2002)

‘A moderately evolved nose offers up subtle notes of stone and secondary fruit aromas that merge seamlessly into rich, round and relatively open middle weight flavors that also reflect a subtle minerality on the solidly long finish.’ - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 90/100 (Feb 2020)
