About this Item
Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of Burgundy’s star properties and is known for its concentrated, rich and serious wines. Until 30 years ago, most of the domaine's vineyards were leased out and the wine was sold to négociants. The domaine only began bottling in 1985 and the various sharecropping agreements, including one with Henri Jayer, have all come to an end. Today, Jean-Nicolas Méo and Christian Faurois, a former sharecropper turned right-hand man, manage the domaine and produce some of the Côte d'Or’s finest wines. The domaine now proudly holds 2.5 hectares of Grands Crus and 8 hectares in some of the finest Premier Cru sites in Nuits-St-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. Most of the vineyards are farmed organically.
Vosne-Romanée is one of the most revered appellations in Burgundy, known for producing some of the finest and most sought-after red wines in the world. The vineyards in Vosne-Romanée benefit from optimal terroir, including limestone-rich soils and ideal sun exposure, which contribute to the wines' complexity, depth, and aging potential. 2009 is a wine from a highly acclaimed vintage in Burgundy. The 2009 vintage is often remembered for its ripe fruit flavors, ample structure, and overall excellent quality.

Critics Ratings
'A hint of herbal and black pepper aromas gives way to cherry and raspberry flavors in this well-defined red. Light tannins shore up the finish. Best from 2014 through 2022.' - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 90/100 (May 2012)
'Good dark red. Perfumed aromas of raspberry, minerals and Oriental spices, with a liqueur-like suggestion of framboise Then silky-sweet and energetic, with ripe acidity carrying the wine's fruit and mineral flavors through a juicy, persistent finish. Dusty building tannins give the wine good spine.' - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (Jan 2011)
