About this Item

2010 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Hauts-Doix
2 (1 x 2) 750ml

Domaine Robert Groffier Père & Fils is a winery in the Morey-Saint-Denis commune of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. A majority of the producer's vineyards are in Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin where it makes a range of grand and premier cru wines, mostly from Burgundy's prized red variety, Pinot Noir. The domaine has been in the Groffier family since the 19th Century when it was established by Frederick Groffier. Robert Groffier took over in the mid-20th Century and the estate began to bottle its own wine.

Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Hauts-Doix is one of the premier vineyard sites within the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, known for producing wines of exceptional quality and complexity.

Critics Ratings

‘Medium red. Expressive aromas of purple fruits, violet, licorice and spices. Precise and energetic but a bit youthfully clenched; perhaps a bit hardened by the sulfur addition two weeks before my tasting but without any rough edges. Finishes savory and long, with dusty tannins and very good cling. These vines now average 28 years of age, noted Groffier, and produced just 14 hectoliters per hectare in 2010.’ - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 91/100 (Jan 2012)
